strict liability
Strict liability is based on a policy of law that allows for liability without fault. It is only necessary to prove that the injury occurred and that the defendant was responsible for it.
Abnormally Dangerous Activities
In general, one who engages in an abnormally dangerous activity is liable for any harm as a result of that activity even though he/she has taken all precautions to prevent injury.
Animals
A person is strictly liable for any injuries or harm caused by a wild animal they own. The liability is based upon the types of behavior (Lion) that wild animal is known for. In California, strict liability applies to dog bites and other various domestic animal bites, attacks, jumping causing injury etc...
