Los Angeles, CA -
The Los Angeles Law Firm of Slaughter &
Slaughter joins national and local organizations to
promote National Dog Bite Prevention Week (May 18 –
24).
Joining the dog bite prevention efforts this week
are the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention,
American Veterinary Medical Association and the
United States Postal Service.
Each year the law firm of
Slaughter & Slaughter handles many dog bite and dog
attack cases in
California.
Many of these cases involve serious dog bites
which often require surgical repair and
hospitalization.
The best way to help work towards dog bite
prevention is through educational and practical
programs like Dog Bite Prevention Week.
Every year, nearly 5 million
people are attacked or bitten by dogs in the
United States.
Of those, nearly 1 million require medical
attention and half of those are children.
Dog attacks sometimes can lead to more
catastrophic injuries as well as fatal injuries.
Children are the most susceptible to being
bitten by dogs and it is important to teach children
about the potential dangers of unfamiliar or stray
dogs.
“Our commitment to service goes
beyond our clients alone.
We are dedicated to promoting the safety and
well being of our community,” said Reza Torkzadeh,
an attorney at Slaughter & Slaughter.
“Children continue to be the most susceptible
to dog bites followed by US postal workers.
It is critical as a nation that we recognize
such an issue that affects millions of people each
year,” said Torkzadeh who’s practice is dedicated to
helping victims of serious injuries.
Slaughter & Slaughter is a
plaintiff’s law firm that handles serious and
catastrophic injury cases throughout California.
